Denver, Co. – February 1, 2003 – Integro, Inc., a Colorado based information technology consultant and system integrator, today announced that the website it created using WebSphere technology won an award for the second year in a row from the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI).
The Silver Award for Best Industry Website was awarded to Integro's client, Gill Studios, at the PPAI Expo 2003 ceremony in Las Vegas, Nev. Since debuting at PPAI's summer show in St. Louis, the PPAI Web Awards have recognized the leading Web sites in the promotional products industry and have become very prestigious awards to win. The 2003 PPAI Web Awards announced at The PPAI Expo 2003 recognize PPAI distributor and supplier members who have developed creative and effective Web sites for the promotional products industry.
IBM WebSphere Brings Value to Gill Studios
Using WebSphere, Integro designed and implemented a new web site for Gill that securely connects the company with their 15,000 distributors via the Internet.
This site has helped Gill reduce overhead costs, improve efficiencies, and most importantly provide their many distributors a very easy means of doing business with Gill. Overall, demand for access to the new site by distributors has increased by 15% since the launch in December 2000.
WebSphere was selected for its ability to scale and handle Gill's high number of users and transactions. In addition, using WebSphere enabled Gill's website to integrate with numerous data sources, including a legacy AS/400 system running DB2 Universal Database.
WebSphere is Internet infrastructure software -- known as middleware -- that enables companies to develop, deploy and integrate next-generation e-business applications, such as those for business-to-business e-commerce. WebSphere supports business applications from simple Web publishing through enterprise-scale transaction processing. WebSphere transforms the way businesses manage customer, partner and employee relationships.
