The 2012 Managing Electronic Records conference (http://www.merconference.com/) was all about managing the lifecycle of your information, all about avoiding the massive over-retention that occurs today in companies and government, and how to avoid the costs and risks of over-retention.
If you couldn’t make the conference, I urge you to review the agenda and watch a few of the sessions that are of most interest to you. One good session was the closing Keynote featuring noted authorities Jonathon Redgrave and Randy Kahn (www.redgravellp.com and www.delve.com). Both Jonathon and Randy are attorneys who are experts in info governance and eDiscovery. Their Keynote was 1.5 hours or so, and this 5 minute video gives a sample of their message.
